Cornucopia Quest and pumpkin madness

Hershey Harrisburg Wine Country’s fall festival kicks off this weekend. Cornucopia Quest is a progressive festival going on not at one — but at 12 partner wineries.

Not only will you get the chance to sample freshly pressed juices and just-released wines, but each winery has a special craft or event perfect for fall — from scavenger hunts in the vineyard to “bowling with gourds.” Plus, expect live music and food concessions.

Visit any or all of the wineries over Saturdays and Sundays Oct. 26 through Nov. 3. Tickets are just $10/person or $15/couple and include a souvenir wine glass to use at each winery — plus 10% discounts on all purchases during the event.

Participating wineries include Armstrong Valley Vineyard & Winery, Buddy Boy Vineyard & Winery, Cassel Vineyards, Cullari Vineyards & Winery, Hummingbird Ridge Winery, Hunters Valley Winery, Moon Dancer Vineyards & Winery, Nissley Vineyards & Winery Estate, Tamanend Winery, The Vineyard at Grandview, The Vineyard at Hershey and West Hanover Winery.

A stop at The Vineyard & Brewery at Hershey also will let you sample their just-release fall seasonal brew, Sap Sucker Maple Porter. Also try their Flash Gourd’n pumpkin beer, while supplies last.

Feeling punky? Appalachian Brewing Company has limited supply of its Rye Pumpkin Ale, and Lancaster Brewing Company still has its Baked Pumpkin Ale available in bottles. Troegs Brewing Company’s much-anticipated “Master of Pumpkins” Scratch beer is due out any day! And Tamanend Winery in Lancaster has a limited Pumpkin Spice wine available now through November.
