The Hershey Harrisburg Regional Visitors Bureau(HHRVB) hosts semi-annual events to recognize and engage with the 300 local businesses we partner with. Earlier this week, we hosted a “Meet the Partners” social where we recognized a few of this year’s “best of.”

HHRVB Award Winners

Award Recipient ID: Andrew Ponti, Anne Deeter Gallaher, Timothy Edwards, Mike Wilson, Lutricia Eberly, Amanda Haffly

The HHRVB Partner in Tourism V.I.P. “Very Involved Partner” award recognizes an individual who is highly active and engaged in Bureau initiatives, events and program, including our social media channels, events and volunteer opportunities. This year, this went to Lutricia Eberly, Director of Sales and Events at Roundtop Mountain Resort. Cheers, Lutricia!

The Hershey Harrisburg Region rejoiced when Farm Aid came to Hershey in summer 2012. For her involvement in this, Amanda Haffly at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts received the HHRVB Partner in Tourism Best New Event Award. Farm Aid has a significant economic impact on the region — and promoted both music and local farmers. Cheers, Amanda!

Sometimes it’s the work of one person – partner or non – who demonstrates an ability to recruit new business for the region via a new annual or one-time meeting, convention, sporting event, special event or group, creating a significant economic impact for the region. We call that the “Bring it Home,” award, and for 2012, that person is Mike Wilson, Chair of Harrisburg Young Professionals’ Political Action Committee. Cheers, Mike!

Developing the region’s tourism base is a key focus of the Bureau, but not without the help of our partners. The HHRVB Partner in Tourism Above & Beyond Award goes to Jason Reimer on behalf of the Hershey Harrisburg Wine Country Wineries for his personal investment to develop, advance and improve the local tourism product in a significant way. Cheers, Jason!

Sometimes there’s a non-partner who invests as much in our region as we do. The HHRVB Partner in Tourism Friend of the Bureau Award recognizes an individual or organization who contributes in a positive way to the Bureau’s mission and goals via social media channels, sharing news and announcements, promotes the Bureau’s marketing messages, generates new partners and otherwise provides general positive support within the region on behalf of the Bureau. This year we’re honored to recognize Anne Deeter Gallaher, CEO/Owner of the Deeter Gallaher Group with the Friend of the Bureau award. Cheers, Anne!

For 2012, the “Influencer of the Year” award went to Andrew Ponti, Executive Director of The Pride of the Susquehanna for his effective use of the Bureau’s social media platforms, simultaneously promoting the Riverboat’s services while educating the Bureau’s target consumer audience on the positive aspects of the region. Cheers, Andrew!

Finally, the HHRVB Partner in Tourism Business Development Award recognizes an individual or company that has started, opened or moved a their business to the region. We welcome and acknowledge the efforts of Timothy J. Edwards, Executive Director for the Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority & Scott Miller, Deputy Director of Marketing & PR of Harrisburg International Airport for his efforts spearheading the Frontier Airlines and Allegiant Air at HIA in 2012

We look forward to working with all of our partners throughout 2013 to promote and improve the Hershey Harrisburg region!
