Hummingbird Ridge Winery celebrates First Friday Music — you guessed it — every first Friday of the month. This week hear live acoustic music from Will Work For Wine at the winery’s Newberry Commons Mall store in Etters from 5-8 p.m.
The Perry Council for the Arts and Mini Mountain Laurel Concert Series presents Mountain Fling in free concerts at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights. Friday at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 120 Main St, Lewistown. Saturday at Highland United Presbyterian Church, 11 Church Rd, Newport. A freewill offering will be collected.
Saturday is Opening Day at Hershey Gardens! The Gardens opens at 9 a.m. for the season. From 1-3 p.m., garden experts will help participants plan the perfect kitchen garden and provide instruction on soil preparation, plant selection and caring for plants the natural way. Students will receive graph paper to plot their own garden measurements. The class is $35.
Watch Artist in Action – Clare Klaum on Saturday at Village Artisans Gallery. Clare renders landscapes, birds and butterflies in several different media including pastels, watercolors and colored pencils. Animal portraits are her specialty.

Sunday afternoon, enjoy a special presentation, “As The Wizard of Oz Turns 75” at 2 p.m. at Art Association of Harrisburg. The Art Association will host two local authors, who will discuss the creation and legacy of the beloved motion picture through the eyes of their latest book, The Wizard of Oz: The Official 75th Anniversary Companion.
