The 9th Annual KidsCare Family Expo runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 1 at the Zembo Shrine Event Complex. Exhibitors will provide craft activities to bring out the creativity in the children who attend and the items will be passed along to “The Children” at Shriners Hospitals. Children attending are encouraged to bring pennies along to contribute to the special PENNY JAR that will be presented to “The Children” at the hospital along with the handcrafted items. Children attending will receive a free hot dog and drink as a thank you from “The Children” at Shriners Hospitals.
Watch Artist in Action, Elaine Haag, on March 1 at Village Artisans Gallery. Haag creates felted handbags using high quality yarns. Between 1-4 p.m., watch as she knits her one-of-a-kind designs.
Art Association of Harrisburg presents its annual Bal Masque – “Literary Allusions” — on March 1 from 7-11 p.m. at Appalachian Brewing Co. The Association’s very own version of Mardi Gras, magically transforms the Abbey Bar. Come in a costume depicting an esteemed literary character in keeping with this year’s theme or not and join in the merriment.
