Harrisburg’s Second Street runs right through downtown Harrisburg. Over the last decade, it’s become the place to go for dining, nightlife and entertainment.
There is a little something for everyone in Pa.’s Capital City, with restaurants, bars and lounges lining this piece of prime real estate. So, how to choose? Here are a few of my favorites:
Find the entire list of Second Street’s Restaurant Row venues.
Cafe Fresco — It’s a go-to for business lunches, but by night it shapes into fine fusion dining. Plus, check out special deals on their impressive cocktail list during Happy Hour.
Federal Taphouse — One of Harrisburg’s newest additions, the Federal Taphouse is about one thing: craft beer. The 100-tap list is constantly changing, so there’s no doubt you’ll always be able to try something new.
Sawyer’s — Finish off summer at downtown’s largest outdoor bar. Choose from seats along Second Street, or take your party to the second floor deck to hide away from the crowds. California fireplaces keep you warm even after the sun goes down.
The Brick Haus — A staple of Second Street nightlife, the Brick Haus is no-frills fun. They keep it simple with fast drinks and a good time. Catch the game or load up the TouchTunes jukebox. On weekends, you can people watch from the French doors in the downstairs bar.
Zia’s at Red Door — Two words: Happy Hour. Zia’s at Red Door boasts one of the best downtown, and no one knows about it! Plus, look for their Wine Tasting Thursdays, where you can learn (and taste) from a flight of wines.
