With so many events going on throughout the region, it’s hard to pick which ones to share with your family. Many run throughout the month, so there’s still time to visit them all!
One of the best known holiday attractions is, of course, Hersheypark Christmas Candylane. The amusement park is transformed into a holiday village with more than 30 rides, live entertainment, games shop and food. Plus, of course, Santa and his nine – live – reindeer are there as well. Plus, for more live animal fun, included in your Candylane ticket is access to ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park.
Pack up the kids, grab a couple thermoses of hot chocolate and enjoy a scenic drive through Hershey Sweet Lights. You’ll drive a 2.3-mile route behind The Hotel Hershey and enjoy nearly 600 themed light displays, while enjoying the sounds of the season through your radio.
Try something new and different this year: Ever wonder how Mrs. Claus became Mrs. Claus? Or for that matter, how Santa became Santa? Check out a performance of When Santa Met Sally — It’s a modern-day holiday-themed rom-com! Live at Allenberry Resort Inn & Playhouse now through Dec. 22.
Santa may have driven a sleigh, but we have a feeling he had a soft spot for cars and trains as well. Now through Jan. 15, it’s Cars & Christmas Celebration at the Antique Automobile Club of Hershey Museum (AACA). Trains have taken over all levels of the museum, plus Sammy the Snow Plow is back for the holidays this year.
Now through Dec. 23, Mount Hope Estate & Winery Theater presents: A Dickens of a Christmas. This holiday season, set aside the hustle and bustle to gather around the yuletide fire of yesterday at Mount Hope Estate & Winery’s 30th annual “A Dickens of a Christmas”.
THE 2013 CHRISTMAS SHOW: The First Noel is live at American Music Theatre! Come celebrate the wonder of the holiday season at AMT with a show guaranteed to share the Christmas Spirit. Runs through Dec. 30.
Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts is hosting a Holiday Trains and Trees Display through Jan. 1. A draw for children of all ages, your family will enjoy the variety of decorated trees and themed toy train sets, plus plenty of hands-on activities to get kids into the spirit.
At Fort Hunter Mansion & Park, you can take a Christmas tour of the mansion now through Dec. 23. They also offer a toy train exhibit, along with the Festival of Trees, through this weekend.
