Welcome April, welcome spring! This weekend, the Harrisburg Senators, the city’s AA baseball team (and Washington Nationals affiliate), kicks off its Opening Day weekend with amped up festivities for the whole family.
Opening Day is Thursday, and game time is at 7 p.m. inside of Metro Bank Park on Harrisburg City Island. Get in early to be one of 1,000 fans who get a bobblehead doll of former Senators’ pitcher and current Nationals’ starter, Jordan Zimmerman.
It’s also “Thirsty Thursday,” and that means $2 Coors Light draft on the Boardwalk all night long.
Also, enjoy a classic ballpark hot dog and peanuts — or take your food up a notch and enjoy wings from Arooga’s Draft House & Sports Bar — or a Harrisburg famous “Spotdog.”
Stick around after the game for the first fireworks of the season!
The fun continues Friday night with another 7 p.m. game against the Bowie Baysox. The first 1,000 fans through the gate will get a 2013 Harrisburg Senators magnet schedule.
Plus, after the game, three lucky fans will get to take home the jersey straight off a Senator player’s back!
Bring the whole family by on Saturday night for Hit the Books Nights, celebrating all the reading your kids did all school year long with a pre-game parade. After the game, fans 12 and younger can run the bases!
Also on Saturday, the early birds – first 1,000 fans through the gate — will receive a 2013 Senators team photo and schedule.
The fun doesn’t end there. Sunday’s game is also full of fun for the whole family. Get there early and not only score a Racing Monkeys baseball, but you can join the pre-game catch in the outfield. Plus, season ticket holders will have access to a special pre-game autograph session with the Senators.
After the game, the kids get another chance to run the bases and work off that weekend energy.
The Harrisburg Senators have a calendar full of entertainment, family fun, good food and more — all summer long, so get your tickets and enjoy a night at the ballpark.
